About Math Recovery
Introduction to Math Recovery
Math Recovery programs provide a powerful math intervention framework that gives teachers the unique techniques and tools they need to help elementary children achieve lifetime results! Using highly-effective professional development programs and resources, Math Recovery is changing the way teachers, educators and parents look at teaching mathematics -- and how elementary school children in kindergarten through 5th grade learn.
Math Recovery provides a comprehensive framework that makes a dramatic difference in the teaching of early numeracy with elementary-level students. By utilizing innovative assessment materials, tools and techniques, Math Recovery educators are able to create a successful learning environment that stimulates and encourages a child’s own thought processes to develop numeracy proficiency. Best of all, Math Recovery works equally well in individual, small group, and whole classroom settings.

What IS The USMRC?
The US Math Recovery Council (USMRC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to overseeing and managing the Math Recovery program and its materials, methodology and related intellectual property in the United States. It was established in 2003 with the following purposes:
- To create and coordinate a complete integrated curriculum for the instruction of elementary mathematics
- To maintain and manage all levels of professional development programs for teachers and educators, supported with textbooks and other exclusive materials
- To ensure and enhance the quality of Math Recovery-certified teachers, leaders and champions
- To make research and knowledge of young students'
mathematical thinking available to a wider audience through
publications, presentations, seminars and events
There are many advantages of becoming a member of the US Math Recovery Council; educators who join Math Recovery receive valuable ongoing support, research, and training materials as they apply the principles of Math Recovery programs to their own work, their own students, and their own classrooms.
