  • The Math Recovery Intervention Specialist Program is a year long course that provides in-depth intervention and develops teacher expertise. It is by far the most intensive program and requires the most resources, but in turn has a far-reaching and highly valuable impact on the knowledge and lives of students and teachers.
  • Add+VantageMR is an excellent and versatile program that allows any teacher access to the Learning and Instructional Frameworks used in the Math Recovery Intervention Specialist program, but it is designed to be manageable for a classroom or small group teacher. • SNAP (Student Numeracy Assessment Progressions) is a wonderful introduction to the principles of Math Recovery.  This program prepares teachers to undertake detailed assessment of children’s number knowledge and incorporate what they learn about their students into day-to-day instruction. To get a sense of how each of these programs works in practice with students, please see "In the Classroom". These pages will help explain the ways these programs can change children's understanding of early numeracy, and how -- through improved comprehension -- they learn to process and grasp more advanced mathematical concepts throughout their lives. IN-DISTRICT SUSTAINABILITY

One of the key goals of the US Math Recovery Council is to support and develop in-district training resources to ensure the program's long-term sustainability in schools. Math Recovery's unique training opportunities are an ideal method of assuring this success rate.  Teachers and educators who complete the  Math Recovery Intervention Specialist program have the option of continuing their professional development through certification in the Math Recovery Leader course, the Add+VantageMR Champion course, and/or the SNAP Facilitator course.  You can learn more about each of these in their respective program descriptions.

Once you've chosen the program that is right for you, there are two means of participating in a professional development course. You may search for a regional training near you, or you may initiate a contract for in-district training.
